No doubt the players have to accept part of the blame for the loss. JJ took a horrendous 3pt shot after we had gone a small run in the first half. They got the miss and quickly scored their own three. Big swing of momentum. JJ also missed Edwards wide open for a dunk by not back passing after the high pick. Stuff a senior point needs to do better. We also were out-hustled and pounded on the boards.
But, make no mistake. the largest part of this mess was coaching, or lack thereof. If Ga. Card could figure out their game plan and I had a counter, why did we play exactly the opposite of what was needed? Even if we didn't play zone, why were we not going over the top on screens and overplaying the help?
It is hard to even imagine the kind of personality that literally screams at and berates a frosh for a bad pass and allowed JP and KPG to play through numerous equally egregious mistakes throughout the game. Crump had his best game last time out and gets a dnp, Harris is our most productive player, other than Yante per minute played and Diatta has shown he can play and they get no chance.
