The Braves are close to the tax threshold so no big name will be signed. The minors talent is mediocre at best so we have few that would bring back a top player in a trade. IMO, it might be time to dangle Albies as trade bait with his team friendly contract he could be a center piece.
I’d hate to lose him but if they think Nacho could handle 2nd base it might be the right time.
This was just as much about Cohen flexing muscle as much as just getting Soto. He wanted to show the baseball world he was ready to compete w the Yankees for the best. And in reality this is an 800+m deal and he made sure Soto was going to the Mets no matter what
I saw that, just wonder what FA is out there that they would go after. I thought Adames but he’s gone now.
