I don't understand all the astonishment at Spurrier's rant. His ego and inability to ignore newspapers has had him feuding with the sports writers for decades.

Everyone wants to pussyfoot around the Ol' Ball Coach. Fact is his recruiting is sub par and the defensive coordinator that he should of fired last year will be coaching his defense again this year. I don't care how smart of an offensive mind he has, if he can't stop the other team from scoring or sign SEC caliber playmakers, he will lose. I believe his best years are in his rear view mirror and my bet is with superior recruiting on all his boarders, his double digit win seasons are gone forever.
