Those butterflies will ramp up big time in August.
I’m feeling a little more juiced heading into this season than have the previous 2 seasons. I think finally getting the monkey off our back and being the unquestioned premier program in all of CFB allowed for some complacency to set in. Walked around with my chest out a little more than normal. Thankfully Kirby is a much different animal than most of us.
But now we come off a season that ended disappointingly (albeit that 60-pt win was fun). We are doubted—shhhh I don’t need to hear that we are preseason #1, with the Heisman favorite and #1 draft pick favorite at QB, we are doubted dammit!
In all seriousness though, I think not getting the 3-peat renewed by excitement for the upcoming season. You know that excitement we used to get before each season, thinking this year really could be the year. Only now, we know it can and maybe even should happen.
