Some fun stats and story lines from the last few games or in some cases the season.
Noah Thomasson:
After last game, he is now our leading scorer at 12.6 points. He is also a good defender and rebounder. But one lesser talked about point is that he rarely turns the ball over. For a guy who dribbles and shoots as much as he does, that's pretty impressive. Only 7 turnovers in 10 games this year. That's good stuff.
Jabri Abdur-Rahim:
He is shooting 90% (45 of 50 total attempts) from the free throw line. What's even crazier is that our first points of the year were him getting fouled on a 3 against Oregon. He only hit 1 of the 3 free throws. So he has hit 44 of his last 47 for (94%). He is also 12 of his last 22 threes for 55%. Hopefully we can get him some more three attempts.
Silas Demary:
The Bahamas didn't agree with Demary but he has been really good the last 4 games. In the last 4 games, he is averaging 12 points, 6.5 rebounds, over 2 assists, with just over 1 turnover per game, and 5 of 11 from three (45%). If he can just keep people honest and hit the wide open threes, with his current style of play, it's going to be fun to watch.
Blue Cain:
Has hit his last 6 of his last 13 three for 46%. The boy can burn it up and he might be just getting started.
Russel Tchewa:
Without Jalen Deloach the last 3 games, we have leaned heavy on Tchewa. In the past 3 games he has averaged 31 minutes per game, before that, he was averaging just under 20 minutes. Tchewa has been playing effectively with the increase. In that time, he is averaging 9.3 pts, 7.6 boards, 2 assists. While also playing good defense. The 31 minutes a game is not new to Tchewa, thats what he averaged last year.
Justin Hill:
Has had a nice last 5 games. Not only has he hit some clutch shots late, he has averaged 12 points per game.
RJ Melendez:
Averaging just under 12 points per game the last 4 games with over 7 rebounds per game. Very productive. The turnover number is just over 2. That number needs to continue to shrink.
The caveat is that some of the numbers include stats against non power 5 opponents, but still interesting to see how we have been doing. Go Dawgs!
