Very happy for him, he has busted his ass to gain acceptance. So does this make me legit in the eyes of the those who protect the Arches?

I know it's Arch. Seeing how many of you get your panties in a bunch.

It's just an Atlanta pu$$y school now, but admission is a big DEAL ...

Congrats to him. I'm sure he worked his ass off for it unless he's a natural born genius. And if he's a natural born genius, congrats on that, too. Maybe he won't be begging you for money for the rest of his life.

He's not much of a hell raiser either, so he won't be doing much

to swing things back to the old days. He can bug fo rmoney all he wants, but hes not getting it. The deal is, once you graduate, he's on his own dime. I'm not paying for grad school, and he's not backpacking across Europe either.

Good plan - spoils 'em rotten if you don't pull it ...

My mom gave me some money when my Dad died (not that much, but more than she should have) and it made me sorrier than I already was. I still had to work and everything but I got to live halfway big (for a dude in his 20's) without really concentrating getting ahead. Living an illusion. But it depends on the person. My brother used his in a positive way. Oh well - you live and you learn or either you don't.

congrats, that is wonderful

hopefully the legit comment was tongue in cheek.

Dawg is a Dawg in my book...

Don't make him go through college too poor, he needs to have...

enough to be able to actually look back and remember being able to do the things college kids do. I don't know anything about the real dad situation, but I can tell you a little spending money from you will be a big deal. I'm not saying go crazy and open the wallet, but he needs to be able to take a girl out and go out with his friends.

He's been wrking and saving his money, so I think he'll

have enough to do stuff. If he hasn't done what he said he's doing, then maybe a little life lesson is in order. But I am sure Mom will come to the rescue whether I know about it or not. His "father" isn't much of a factor.

It was. I'm not a legit Dawg accroding to some.

I went to the little brother school in the Boro. In reality I don't give a shart what I qualify as to those folks.

It's harder to do that than you would think these days, especially...

for students in Athens. There are plenty of applicants and not that many part time jobs with flexible schedules.

I'm not for letting kids live lifestyles of the rich and famous, but I was pretty much broke for almost 5 years in Athens and it really sucks.

The only one who makes any mention of that, from what we...

can tell, didn't even go to any college, so don't feel bad. Not many folks, and none you should be concerned with, care about whether or not a Dawg fan actually went to Georgia.

I was broke too. I worked 40 hours a week though. I would go to every rest

taurant on campus. I cleaned out beef barns.

I don't, no worries there.

The funniest part of it is the one you refer to, the main one anyway. Just doesn't register I guess. I've given my share of money to the university through my first wife's account anyway, so I do not concern myself with the definition of a Dawg.

Congrats! Had dinner with my daughter (Soph) last Tuesday night and we talked

about difficulty of getting in now vs when I was there. Glad that both she and her older brother made it since UGA was their first and only real choice. Best of luck to him over the next 4, or more
