- UGA all time single season passing yard leader (2022)
- UGA single season passer rating leader (2021)
- UGA all time career passer rating leader.
- UGA all time leader in pass yards per attempt.
- UGA’s only Heisman finalist of the past 30 years.
- UGA’s only Manning Award Winner (he would’ve won the Heisman if it was done after the playoffs)
- UGA’s only Burlsworth Award Winner.
- Only CFB player to ever win MVP of 4 playoff games.
- MVP of both of Georgia’s National Championship game wins.
This is ignoring wins, championships, and all of the other perceived “team” accomplishments that were accrued during Stetson Bennett’s two glorious seasons as UGA’s primary starting QB.
With all of this data available, saying he isn’t the greatest QB in UGA history doesn’t even classify as an “opinion.” You are simply wrong, and continuing to regurgitate this falsehood will guarantee that everyone who reads your posts or listens to your takes will think of you as either being badly misinformed about the history of UGA football, or as a troll.
A UGA “Mount Rushmore” is subjective, and everyone values football’s various positions differently, and while I personally think Stetson Bennett is a slam dunk to be on mine, I won’t begrudge a fellow fan for spotlighting other legendary players like Herschel, Pollack, or Bowers.
But saying he isn’t the best QB in UGA history is factually wrong. You are straight up wrong if you say or think this, and you need to take a moment today to really, really think about how you’ve developed such an incorrect idea, and then allowed these thoughts to fester in your mind.
I will not be engaging in any debate about this, because I know everyone who disagrees is either badly under informed or is a troll.
