We have been using a portable satellite and DISH Network receiver since 2011 and the set up has worked pretty good. However, DISH has raised their rates for this "pay as you go" service and I think there may be better options.

My thought was to use the Comcast Xfinity website (which I am already paying for) to watch the ESPN's and SEC Network. I can do this by logging in on my laptop and connecting the laptop to our TV. I have a way to stream this without chewing up my own personal data. Nothing illegal it just doesn't need to be discussed here. As of now Comcast does not offer the ability to watch local channels...such as CBS...through their live TV streaming service. That brings me to my next question...

Has anyone used an HDTV antenna to watch local channels while tailgating in Athens. I used a few websites that allow you to enter an address or zip code to determine what stations you will receive with an antenna. I got varying results from different websites. I would like to hear from someone that has actually used an antenna and gotten good enough reception to watch games while tailgating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Streaming ESPN3 is your best option, assuming the wireless upgrades in Athens on Gameday actually made a difference. We tried a few different HD antennas for our home up near Kennesaw, with sub-par results. As with anything, you get what you pay for. At the time, the exterior mounted HD antenna that would have likely yielded the best results would have cost more in time and money than what we wanted to spend - just my 2 cents.
