In Boston, late june, probably June 27, 1975. Paul’s Mall, a play on the cigarette name, was a small club that could hold 250, 300 people if you really jammed them in A family member said Bob was playing, at 630:the night of the show! We decided to go anyway. What the heck, and we got in. We stood at a side wall, pinned to the wall really. I think This was Bob’s first trip to Boston and it was like seeing The Rolling Stones in a tiny venue. It was hot. So hot. I drank 8 or 9 beers and never needed to hit the restroom. My shirt was dripping wet, I could have wrung it out all my clothes. I remember the stage was packed with drums, backup singers, musicians. I smoked in those days as did many people did and the cigarette smoke and pot smoke created a thick fog. Bob smoked a giant joint, if you know Jamaican musicians you know what I’m talking about. It was a jazz club and it had a different name for that- same club, Jazz Workshop, and the stage was crowded with a 4 man combo. There were about 8 or 9 with Bob, and it was overflowing. The people almost merged with the band it was so crowded. We all had a great time.
Anyway the spur of the moment decision to go gave me a top 2 or 3 concert of my lifetime.
