With the news of Donnie Tyndall's firing, my question is how does UT AD, Dave Hart, still have a job?

This is getting pretty pathetic for UT. They've had to fire two basketball coaches recently due to NCAA violations and in both cases, the coaches had a checkered past before they were even hired. In Tyndall's case, it stems from violations at Southern Miss and Morehead State rather than UT, but it's quite an ugly trend. First, they had to fire Bruce Pearl for lying to NCAA investigators. Then there was that embarrassing episode with Cuonzo Martin who led UT to the Sweet 16 yet still faced huge public pressure to be fired and replaced by Bruce Pearl. Feeling dissed by his fans and administration, Martin bolted for Cal and left the UT administration stunned. Now, their brand new coach is being fired for NCAA violations. Plus they are on their 4th football coach in the last 7 years as well.

And what is most disturbing is that Tyndall had a history of NCAA issues before UT hired him (as did Bruce Pearl). Knowing that was a risk, his contract included a clause that said he could not only be fired for violations at UT, but also for violations at a prior school. In other words, they knew damn well they were hiring someone who could be sanctioned and did so anyway, despite the recent track record with Pearl.

Worse yet, there are current NCAA allegations that Tennessee's athletics department interfered with player discipline to keep players on the field, including multiple allegations of sexual assault. And, it's worth noting that Dave Hart was the AD at FSU when multiple rape allegations against football players were completely mishandled (even before the Jameis Winston scandal). Hart has also been sued for gender discrimination at both FSU and UT.

Finally, we've also seen former Vol players go public with admissions that they received money while playing for UT, they never got sanctioned for either Tutorgate or the hostess scandal, not to mention hard evidence of violations with Tee Martin and Juicy Locke, illegal agent involvement with various players, bogus jobs for players, and an endless series of examples where gross misconduct or even criminal behavior was swept under the rug.

So the next set of questions has to be, why does Dave Hart still have a job anywhere in college sports, and given the egregious pattern of corruption, what will it take for the NCAA to finally make an example of a program like this?
