The justice department has filed a lawsuit against Alabama and Secretary of State Wes Allen after he removed over 3,000 voters who had been granted noncitizen identification numbers.

SoS should've acted quicker. Is his alleged violation of the law a non-issue here? Why did SoS drag his feet and miss the deadline on such an important issue? 90 days prior to the election means 90 days....not 84 days. He shouldn't get a pass.

We may have an issue here where legal citizens may have been removed from the voter rolls...is that what we want? From the article:

"The DOJ also alleged that Allen's removal of voter registration also impacted natural-born citizens who were incorrectly identified as potential noncitizens."

I'm all for election integrity...but get it together and handle the business before the deadlines. I'd be pissed if I had a notice that I had been removed from voter rolls due to a clerical error.
