Has there been more than one Showcase?
The gnats invited pitiful Grambling St. to Atlanta last night to play in something they pretentiously call "The Ramblin' Wreck Showcase." KenPom projected georgia tech to have a 98 percent chance of winning.
The game went down to the wire and techster guard Curtis Haywood scored the winning goal on a putback. Unfortunately for the gnat fans, he scored for the other team and tech lost by a bucket. Haywood somehow tipped an uncontested defensive rebound into the wrong goal.
It was Grambling's first victory against a Division I opponent from outside their midmajor conference since Dec. of 2010. You gotta love it!
