What he needs is to have real friends and family tell him it's ok if he's not ready to play at any particular time.
Running on a treadmill is baby steps compared to the stress of carrying a football in a live game.

All I'm concerned about is the guy's long term outlook, not treating him as a commodity.
He needs to worry about his health and future beyond 2016, not about what fans think.

Yeah. Athletes should NOT be under any pressure to do anything in a perfect world......
BUT here in reality an athlete does what he does for love of being able to do it if he's worth his salt.
He's partly out there to satisfy his own demands when you get to the level Chubb is at.
They will play sick, injured, in a rainstorm, in snow, in 100 degree heat and perform to their best
ability rather than sit at home and watch TV and no calling them Superman or the opposite will
change their own level of motivation.
These guys love to play. It'd how they define themselves. Athletes. It's what they do.

That is fine, except when unintended, or very possibly sneaky intended pressure is put on a kid. Everybody knows how team oriented Nick is, that could be easily manipulated with these stories.
Also, it's ridiculous to use those generalized notions of athletes in a case like this.
Nick has a very serious, potentially career ending injury. Everybody needs to stop pumping the hero BS and let the young man heal.
I wouldn't blame him one bit if he decides to sit out the 2016 season.

Yout guys are over reacting after ap came back from Acl. Modern day medical advances

Cases of multiple ligament and other tissue damage are more complicated and harder to predict than single ACL tears.
The over-reaction is the ''superman'' BS just because NC is running on a treadmill.

I'm trying to get at its different yes but so is medical technology. Like fake Sayers bo Jackson could still play if technogly and medical advances was around then.

I'm not saying he can't be ready. I am saying there is concern enough not to want to see fans, media and coaches nudging him toward feeling an obligation to come back as soon as at all possible.
I can't make this plain enough, I'd be ok if he decided sitting out the 2016 season was in his best long term interest.

Lighten up Francis, Smart has already said he would not play until 100% healthy. I doubt seriously Chubb will be on any fan's schedule.
