The missus and I got into yet another argument about gifting for grads...

in general, will never give money as a gift, .... Ever.

Her preference is to give money, every time and she gets pissed that I'd do otherwise, figuring a recent grad would ONLY want money, but she a,so does this for most occasions...birthdays, Xmas, etc...

I think giving money is about the most selfish thing you can do. If somebody gives me money , I just throw it away

I think it is pretty selfish to buy someone a gift that YOU like thinking they have the same taste (bad in your case) as you do. Money is the ultimate gift so they can get what they want. All this being said with the knowledge you are making a feeble attempt at stirring the pot. Why the folks continue to put up with you here is beyond me. You are a boil on the butt of this site.
