The nation's best young coach...

http://www.uhcougars.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/tom_herman_940550.html

He's a legitimate star coach in the waiting. Ask Urban Meyer. He'd be a perfect fit for UGA.

He'd be my choice, other than a top established HC.
Kirby would be right there as well. Herman looks like he might be the next truly great big time HC.
Looks like a good young coach with an offensive mind.

What he accomplished last season as OSU OC was beyond amazing. He got 3 different QBs to play championship level ball. He left to take The Houston HC position and none of them are playing nearly as well this season.
His Houston team is now up 17-0 on Vandy trying to move to 8-0.

Going to be a Gamecock. Sorry.
I would think that he would take the UGA job over USC if they were both options....solely based on recruiting base. Georgia is so fertile with high school football talent.

The man was born and went to college in Southern Cal, I think if the real USC offers, he'll take that job.

You are correct in both aspects, I fully agree.
But I feel like even if UGA loses again and MR won't be let go until after the SECCG, and AD Coach Ray Tanner already has said he'll have USC's new coach in place essentially immediately following the SECCG. Giving Carolina a heads up on the hire. But that's just my opinion, take it for what it's worth and thanks for the construction conversation by the way.

You are not going to do better than Mark. He will win out and regroup for a good run at the east next year. You don't want to go chasing the flavor of the month. In the turbulent life of college football he brings security and a steady hand when you need it.

Now, that is downright funny.

I think I'm going to puke!
