According to court records, the new head of the NRA, Doug Hamlin, was one of five fraternity brothers at Michigan who pled no contest to cutting off the paws of a cat, hanging it up and setting it on fire. It was the fraternity cat and he was president of the fraternity at the time.

Apparently, they were angered by the cat not using the litter box, which, if I were to speculate, was probably not cleaned on a regular basis.

That’s some pretty terrible shit.

What about women who have there babies dismembered and discarded as trash? A child, made in the image of God and known personally by God.

Apparently their baby was an inconvenience.

My my the things we hold sacred and important.

Just saying.

Now do Fauci. If true both should be locked up.

I just want to make sure I understand your point.

Anyone who supports the right to abortion in any form abrogates the right to express disgust at a behavior like animal torture because abortion, unlike an act involving a mere cat or other animal, involves a fetus made in the image of God that is known personally by Him.

Do I have that right?

No, you don’t have it right.

Why should that abrogate your right?

This part seems kind of important , unless your The Guardian, then it means nothing :

While Hamlin’s exact role in the killing is unclear, a report in the Ann Arbor News published in March 1980 – at the time of the court case – said that district court judge SJ Elden singled Hamlin out for criticism, saying he could have prevented it from happening as the leader of the fraternity.

That was a reach. Why I am not surprised.
All you do is look for the bad in the world at least on the opposite side of your beliefs. You need to get a new focus on life and search for the things that are good and focus only on the bad things that you can change. Just my 2 cents.

I appreciate the sentiment but disagree.

I come to the vent primarily for political dialogue, which we can likely all agree is not the most positive subject these days.

I grew up with guns and have been a member of the NRA in the past before their mission became fighting any restrictions on all guns in any setting regardless of the costs.

My opinion is that it's relevant that the single most powerful and effective lobbying group in DC is currently being run by someone who exhibited one of the top indicators of the presence of psychopathy. And it's not like he was a kid. He was a senior at Michigan and president of his fraternity when it happened.

Given that the NRA is accused of being entirely uncaring about the negative impacts of the laws they lobby for so effectively, it seemed an interesting development.

I have plenty of sources of joy in my life, particularly my wife and children. That's not why I spend time here, although I am occasionally heartened or amused by what is posted here.

Have a great day.

Yep....Fauci advocated killing 100s of Beagles with blood sucking flies....in the name of Science....both acts are reprehensible in my opinion
The use of animals in medical testing is highly controversial and I understand anyone who opposes it.

The dismembering and torture of a housecat as punishment is an entirely different scenario.

Comparing that to the dismembering and torture of a housecat as punishment are two entirely different scenarios.
Point well taken.

Cruelty to animals is rampant in this country....cats and dogs abused, starving and being euthanized by the 1000s....and yet in some cultures a staple of their diets. I did not advocate what they did to the cat and it is clearly inhumane and deserves charges. Just one example of crap that goes on every day. Have you ever been to a slaughter house...if so you probably would not enjoy perusing the meat cooler at Publix, Kroger etc...so much.

You are right. My response was more emotional than it should have been.

I agree what they did was awful.

not into killing cats, but I do agree with your point…pro abortionist no matter are too much imo. Killing is killing no matter how they want to frame it. Overall I have no problem when it comes to rape, incest etc, but taking zero responsibility or expect the tax payer to pay for their abortion just because that’s what one chooses to do is a little much imo. I gotta think many of these snap judgements of I don’t want anybody to know of the pregnancy so abort is the answer really backfires on many women emotionally…some obviously aren’t bothered at all.

They both love gruesomely killing pets... allegedly
Well, Noem detailed her episode in her autobiography and Hamlin pled no contest in court, so I'm not sure there is any "allegedly" about it.

And yet you wholeheartedly support abortion. Liberal worldview in a nutshell.

I was trying to at least give them an out… ha ha

but yes, kindred spirits, indeed.

And yet many of the people who are most strident about the evils of abortion are dedicated advocates for the death penalty. Some even tend to lose interest once a fetus becomes a newborn, as proven by the fact that we are the only industrialized nation in the world without universal healthcare.

It's almost as if it is more about control than it is protecting and investing in human life.

There is no good answer for abortion, it’s been an issue forever.

The best answer I’ve seen is to let the states decide. If they decide against it….rape, incest and the health of the person are the exceptions.

Last I look, this is what Trump wants.
