The buildup Cat:
So here we come to the most pressure-packed game John Calipari has maybe ever coached. Not to put too fine a point on this, but so much depends on this game tomorrow night (and, honestly, the one after it if we win). To lose in the first round again would be a cataclysmic event. Because right now there isn't apathy; it isn't like at the end of Gillispie or at the end of Tubby or during the COVID season with Cal. This team is beloved. They have a superstar from Kentucky. They have the pieces to be a really good basketball team. And yet, as we've seen, things are a bit perilous because of how they play. If they go out against another mid-major and pull a St. Peter's...well, I think you'll see some weird stuff come Friday morning.
This is a big one. The Cats have to win. The game is tomorrow night at 7:10 on CBS.
And the let down.....
FireCoachCal.com Cat:
I'll take a loss by 40 if it prompts Mitch to fire Cal in the locker room.
"Sneak some ex-lax into that man's drink" Cat: If Cal would go to the bathroom, when he got back we would be up 10.
Bright side Cat: Played terrible and still not being blown out
Moving on Cat: If they lose and it’s a good chance, Cal has to be fired.
"You a descendant of Col. Sanders?" Cat: Do you have 38 million dollars sitting around?
Rod Serling Cat: The zone is a mystery to us. Just standing around..........
Off Broadway Cats: Hate to say it but some of our guys aren’t ready for the big stage
"Bob Knight is laughing in his grave" Cat:
This tournament officially brought much more joy to UL and IU fans than UK fans
Every other fan base absolutely loves what Cal has done to our program.
All Aboard Cat: I’ve never been on the fire cal train but I’m here now. I’m done, this is a freakin embarrassment. It’s taking everything in my power to not curse and get banned from this thread. Never been so mad in my life. I’m done with Cal and this administration .
"We can get Georgia's coach just like we did in the nineties" Cat: Calipari has to be fired. Who can do better, you ask? Virtually every D1 coach in the country, if we are being honest.
Jimbo Calipari Cat:
Everybody saying "he has to be fired."
While I agree with the sentiment... we. Can't. Afford. It.
"The head coach at Lexington Catholic is pretty good" Cat: We can 100% fire him and hire a head coach for $100,000 a year. That would give us equal results.
"Cataracts saved the cardiac" Cat:
I had eye surgery today and could not watch. Blessings come in strange ways. Two top five picks, 6 or 7 NBA prospects, and time t o prepare for both the opening SEC game and now this.
Thank you coach Cal for your previous accomplishments, but for me this is gonna have to be it. Every year we say we have to wait until the next class. One tourney win in the last half decade just really doesn't make the cut.
