3) You cannot make peace without concessions to your hated enemy.

To your third point, Ukraine most needs longterm security it’s not about making concessions. Every president that’s ever dealt with Putin has tried to make deals with him that he never plans on following up with. Ukraine needs a plan for that otherwise what are they agreeing to? Why in the world would Ukraine trust Russia after already getting invaded? It sort of seems like your solution is just let Russia have what they want which historically does not lead to de-escalations

So Trump needs to continue with status quo ? Broadcast from the rooftops how bad Putin is. Assuring he will never negotiate with anyone. Security meaning Ukraine will get to continue to exist as a sovereign entity and if/when russia backs out on the deal we would support Ukraine as a sovereign nation. Because every president has given Putin a clean slate only to be betrayed by it so we have to be prepared for that reality too

The US invests money, people, and resources in Ukraine to mine rare earth. Providing a deterrent but not putting military presence there.

Any post war security forces are provided by the EU.

Territorial lines freeze as they are now.

Ukraine is not in NATO consideration.

That’s the deal there for all to accept, and it sounds as if only one party won’t accept it. The one whose country is being torn apart yet propped up by the US.

What @-lowcountrydawg is saying is we’ve spent three years under Biden saying Putin is bad (which we all agree on), Ukraine is good (not necessarily the case), sending loads of money and weapons to Ukraine, and yet Ukraine has lost land and people, and they will continue to lose land and people the longer they fight. If what we’re doing now isn’t working, then something else has to be done. Trump said it best yesterday, he’s not for Russia and he’s not for Ukraine. He’s for America and the good of the world. So how do we make the best thing for America and the world happen? It’s not by doing the same thing we’ve been doing.
