Hard to imagine a better non-football weekend. Baseball Dawgs win series and most likely secure national seed, softball upsets Duke to make supers, men’s track finishes highest in SEC outdoors since 1940, women’s track dominates to win by 20+ to secure our 3rd ever outdoor SEC title.
And women’s tennis wins our first NCAA championship since 2018. It’s been a minute. Football, equestrian and indoor tennis are not NCAA sanctioned sports. As good as our tennis program has been, first women’s title since 2000. That makes 32 NCAA titles overall across all sports. 50 counting football, equestrian and indoor tennis.
For reference, Tennessee has 18 NCAA titles, Auburn has 15 & Clemson has 5 (including never winning one in a women’s sport.)
Not bad for UGA, supposedly a one-sport school. How are the everything schools doing?
