No QB, horrible OL, undisciplined players. Kirby has his work cut out for him. He will need 2 years to clean up the mess and recruit but I believe he can turn them into an elite program. He is putting together a great staff.
They looked just about like they looked the last four games of the year - 326 yards in total offense split 50/50 between run/pass, 30% 3rd down conversion rate, +1 Turnovers, 17 first downs, 64 plays, a dumb penalty that killed a drive, a nice punt return, a couple of false starts and moments confusion at the LOS, an unnecessary sack to knock themselves out of FG range, etc. The difference was that they punched it in 3 times, including once right before half, and didn't come way empty on their two trips into the red zone against a pretty good defense. Defense played well enough and in the end, they got a win over a middle of the pack Big 10 team. However, it WAS Penn State and I've been waiting 33 years to get back at that formerly sanctimonious, still polyester clad, Ryan's Steakhouse frequenting crowd and it was James Franklin and it was for 10 wins, in spite of a schedule that was light, and it was for 40 wins for the senior class and it was for pride. They did what was expected. Thank you, Mitchell, Ganus, DeLoach, Floyd, Jenkins, Theus, Hicks, Houston, Morgan, Rome, and any other senior I did not name, as well as Coaches Lilly, McClendon and Eckler for seeing it through. No QB, horrible OL, undisciplined players. Did you and die hard exchange passwords I agree with you we showed guts todayYep, next season could look a lot like the first two years post Mack Brown at Texas. Charlie Strong had the same issues Kirby will have at UGA. I expect a good number of dismissals and transfers.
Cry on Cry Babies.
Kirby is inheriting a loaded roster...numb nuts.
All We need is more depth on The DL and OL. Pruitt has already brought in most of the defensive players We need. If Kirby can close on Brown ( which Pruitt has set Him up to do) We'll have as talented a 2 deep 3 man line as any team in CFB.

Helen you silly bundle of sticks...
Stone dildo, a posturing whiner.
You'd like a stone dildo, wouldn't you...such a pussy. No sack whatsoever. Quit lifting your skirt and showing everyone what you're really working with...
Eckler was probably watching from North Texas, but I still love the crazy bastard. I agree with thanking all Our seniors and the coaches who stuck with it.
Too many people want to dismiss everything about The Richt era, which includes every young man who has devoted himself to Our program over the past 15 years. We have been blessed with some excellent players and better men.
I appreciate every last one of them more than words can express.
That's an interesting pic of You. I've never seen a penis head wearing a woman's head scarf before.
Hey idiat stick (just joking, take off from a numb nuts) any team without outstanding OL and Dl is not "loaded".....Cry on Cry Babies.

It's been a tough year. So was last year. So were 2013, 2010 and 2009. They showed the graphic of Richt's won/lost record vs Top 25 competition at 39-36, and we all know most of the success was front end loaded into his first seven years. That kind of record will put you right in the middle of the Top 25 which, over 15 years, was pretty much what we were. That's great if you're OK State, Texas Tech, K State, Iowa, Missouri or Arkansas, but we have resources that they don't. I really did like Richt, although I got frustrated with his apparent lack of attention to the small things that make the big differences, but I'm excited about Kirby. He's direct. He'll be focused. I think he's a taskmaster. So is Saban. So was Dooley, for that matter. Enjoy your month off until Signing Day.

It wasn't my intention to be negative. And I'm not much for whining. There are plenty of more egregious examples of whining on this site to keep you occupied. I thought it was realistic, which in our case is neither decidedly negative nor overly positive. The season did not meet expectations. I don't think expectations are, on balance, unrealistic: Win an understregth division and hope to catch lightning in a bottle vs Alabama. That's about it. Missouri did twice and so did a suspect Florida team this year. The good years numbered far more than the disappointing years early in Richt's career and the disappointing ones outnumbered the good ones in the second half of his career. Most people who can count on their fingers can work that out for themselves. And that's why he was fired. Have a nice day.Why the insatiable need to whine and wallow in every perceived negative ?
I just don't get what is still driving some of You. Are You really THAT damaged to feel the need to express it every GD day to the point You're incapable of simply thanking players without injecting negativity into it ?

Who the hell are you to constantly lecture people about their motivations. I bet you are an irrelevant little man in real life and don't say $hit in person. Why the insatiable need to whine and wallow in every perceived negative ?

I was initially against it, as well, but have come around. Like Kirby said to his players in his first meeting: The margins between good and elite are small, but the amount of work required to capture that small margin is great. All of these changes would not have happened if we had beaten a bad Florida team the last two years and made it to Atlanta for back to back games. Both losses were coaching brain freezes we have best to death on this site. I adnit I was initially against this move with a likely ten win team and suspect it was first ten year team in history to change all but two coaches. Rest of country must think we are either arrogant or nuts or both. Those of us who were in jax the last two years have come to grips for this change.

After seeing Richt being photographed at his first press conference at Miami wearing a UGA-logo belt, I realized he never had the attention to detail we need at the head coaching position. That might have been the most Mark Richt-ian thing ever.
You must not know much about football. No QB, horrible OL, undisciplined players. Kirby has his work cut out for him. He will need 2 years to clean up the mess and recruit but I believe he can turn them into an elite program. He is putting together a great staff.
I've never feared giving My opinions. For instance, You stink, wipe Your ass once in awhile.
First tell me how long you have attended or watched football?Tell me where I am wrong genius.
How do you manage to navigate through daily life without getting punched in the mouth?
He hides behind a keyboard 24/7. He is obviously one of those kids that got his ass kicked on a regular basis in middle school.
First off I don't hang out with Guys who pretend to be Killers on web sites.
Secondly, I don't punch others and I insist others don't punch Me. It's a method that works for most adults.
I have a feeling you're holding back...you have the personality that really takes folks to that place.
On a side note, I'm no more "pretending" to be a killer than you are to "pretending" to not be a transsexual named Helen...

Well said...They looked just about like they looked the last four games of the year - 326 yards in total offense split 50/50 between run/pass, 30% 3rd down conversion rate, +1 Turnovers, 17 first downs, 64 plays, a dumb penalty that killed a drive, a nice punt return, a couple of false starts and moments confusion at the LOS, an unnecessary sack to knock themselves out of FG range, etc. The difference was that they punched it in 3 times, including once right before half, and didn't come way empty on their two trips into the red zone against a pretty good defense. The idea we have "resources" others lack is laughable. Just one example: Every team to include Vandy in the SEC have an indoor practice facility. We're starting to "break ground". Bama spent 20 million more on football last year than UGA did. Please explain to me about all these resources our competition lacks. We're followers. Our AD is not pro-active in regards to facilities and staffing which is part of the reason almost every program has gotten worse under his watch. Tell me where I'm wrong.
Maybe he did it on purpose. Smart not wearing anything uga during TV interview tells me he all I need to know. He is on the clock for uga. Saban told him to go neutral. If he is around next time ga. plays bammer-he will probably do #2 in pants. After seeing Richt being photographed at his first press conference at Miami wearing a UGA-logo belt, I realized he never had the attention to detail we need at the head coaching position. That might have been the most Mark Richt-ian thing ever.
Georgia is a sleeping giant with a history of under performance. Nobody that is extremely talented, who desired to win a championship and was willing to pay the price would take the risk to come to Georgia. Hopefully, Kirby Smart will change that and make it worth the risk.We are in the best cash position of any top southern program, We have a huge fan base and most important, maybe the best recruiting grounds in CFB.
I agree Our leaders have been mostly followers till Pruitt rattled some cages, but the giant is awake now.
It won't matter that others had Their IPFs before Us or that We were slow in adding behind the scenes staff. The important thing is We have those things going forward.
How you know that no one was willing to take the chance. It's been smarts job for almost 2 months. No one else apparently was worthy of an interview. Another on the job training.Georgia is a sleeping giant with a history of under performance.
