For coaches, players, recruits, and big buck boosters. A lot of recruits seem to have jumped at NIL money, thinking that they can grab the cash and then transfer the next year to a more desirable destination. It’s already apparent that there will be many lessons learned.

UGA didn’t take any portal transfers last cycle, and will be very selective this year. Many players are going to be shocked to find that teams that were begging for their signature are no longer interested. Not even willing to take a chance. UGA is a perfect example. Many will end up in worse situation than they left.

Coaching staffs are going to see that portal transfers have been a very. mixed bag. Bama was one of the most active teams in the portal last cycle, and it didn’t work out well for them. The more players you portal in, more will portal out. Bama now has a revolving door in the AA.

Recruits are watching this drama, and will have to reevaluate. Right now many feel like they can give a school a shot because they have better food, prettier girls, or because they really received a lot attention. If it doesn’t work out, climb into the portal. The portal is developing a taint. Buyer beware.

The boosters supplying the cash to buy recruits with big NIL deals have to be shaking their heads. All that money for a player that didn’t accomplish that much and then left after a year. Tex AM boosters can’t be real excited about the results they earned.

Times they are achanging.
