gacard summed it up perfectly referring to the PG position. The "Three year window" is also spot on as well. I have always felt that a new HC's first 3 years are the most crucial in setting down the foundation for his program. Lets look at CMF's first 3 recruiting classes.

2009- Vincent Williams, Demario Mayfield

2010- Sherrod Brantley, Donte Williams, Marcus Thornton.

2011- Tim Dixon, John Florveous, Nemi, John Cannon, KCP.

Not one legit PG in those first three classes, and we didnt sign a true PG in the 2012 class either. In those first 3 classes, we had three players dismissed or transferred out, Mayfeld, Cannon and Dixon. We got alot of production out of KCP and Nemi, Donte on occasions and Marcus in year 4 and 5 of his time in Athens. The 2012 class looked pretty good at first, but Morris gets kicked out of school, HK is HK, so we basically have 2 guys that produce, Kenny and Chuck. 2013 we sign 4 guys, one transfers out( Forte) , one stayed hurt most of the time (Parker) KPG is KPG and JJ steps up big time. 2014 we sign 2 guys, Idulwe and Yante, Fred transfers out so we are left with just Yante.

Looking at our past recruiting classes its not hard to understand why we have swam around in mediocrity. We have just one original remaining assistant on staff ( Phil), what more left is there to do? How can any UGA basketball fan sit here today and say they feel optimistic about the future? I dont see any great recruiting class coming in next season. I see what i have seen the past 8 years, one really good player( Hammonds this year) to mask alot of other pedestrian ones. We lose our best and ONLY consistent Backcourt player in JJ after this season. I dont even want to think about what we will look like offensively next year.
