Shaq said this to Dash back in July...

"They (Georgia coaches) keep it real, and they won't lie to you. When I
got offered at DB, Coach (Jeremy Pruitt) started coaching me up, and I
was just letting him say what he said," Wilson recently told
UGASports.com. "He said I could make millions at corner, and I just went
with that. If they move me to corner, I'll play it. It really doesn't
matter what I play. For instance, if I go to Georgia and they've got a
lot of receivers, I'll play corner. It really doesn't matter to me. If
it's for the team, I'll do it.".

Shaq was usually dismissive about the idea of playing WR in general, but not here... but there is also something maybe a more little telling in this particular quote about him alluding to wanting to play WR if they had an opening at WR. Well we all saw how this was developing... and last night we courted a WR, and hours later Shaquery commits to WVU.

I think he was hanging on by a thread here. Everyone virutally tabbed him as being gone, until yesterday when it seemed Pruitt seemingly patched things up. But then we had a WR on campus. I think Shaq was on the brink and this was the tipping point for him. Kids are emotional, and they often react emotionally. And while there was a flirtation of Shaq playing WR when he was initially recruited, he knew he was here to play DB. I hope the best for him, and in all honesty, I think this works out best for us.
