But damn, to suggest this somehow affords opportunity for recruits to become part of technology developmentry or even leveraging in someway that is beneficial....that's a stretch. Instead, look to the engineers at places like Skunk works if being part of the team matters to you as a career. With a very few exceptions (naval lab, for instance but even that is conditional), it's civilian engineers which create cool shim military is mostly a user environment.
