One thing that Trump has figured out and is using is the dynamic where democrats will fight him on literally anything. So he puts them in a position to do things like...oh, I don't know - defund the police, approve war, fight the early welcomed arrival of a Covid vaccine, oppose un-employment insurance extensions, football being played, etc, etc. The list goes on. He simply supports something he knows the majority of Americans want, and then watches them dig themselves a hole.

His chess game isn't "Hey I want a vaccine really fast so I get re-elected." It is "I'm gonna talk about a vaccine and how awesome it will be if we get it early, and let the democrats oppose it." It almost doesn't matter if it comes before election day or not. But if it does, it will come with the backing of countless trials and the approval of the drug companies. Oppose all that at your own peril Democrats. But you watch - they will. And whether they are successful or not, they will have dug their own graves. Just like with a lot of other things. Totally overplayed their hands

Yeah, the whole, "I wouldn't trust Trump on the vaccine" is beyond foolish on multiple levels. Everyone knows the vaccine project was put into overdrive and it's common knowledge we're getting close. If all the science says a vaccine is ready, the FDA gives approval and distribution begins, I don't think many independents are going to believe it was done for the political advantage of the POTUS
