The different reasons is for another day.
A week or so ago I posted about how my new year had started. Little farm growing. Good family. Bulldog fan.
I also mentioned about my cousin going to PA to spend Christmas with his family. While up there, his 3yo son was hospitalized with 2 abcesses on his neck. 2 days later his wife, 33yo, was hospitalized with pneumonia. She was immediately placed in ICU and within 24 hrs on life support.
A couple days ago the son was able to go home. Fever dropped and abscesses were drained. He's wearing a neck collar to help hold some vertebrae in place but has a positive diagnosis.
The wife has been through a lot. God has allowed her to live but she has a long road ahead of her. She has had several surgeries and is slowly coming to.
They were told a couple weeks ago that she could lose her limbs because of sepsis. Today that nightmare became a partial reality. Today she underwent surgery to have both legs removed at the knees because of gangrene.
I don't always understand God's ways. But His ways are ALWAYS best. David (my cousin) and Ciara firmly believe that. David said today that she took the news better than he did. They both know she is in God's hands and nothing can touch her that doesn't pass through Him first.
Would y'all remember to pray for David and Ciara and their 2 boys. They need God's grace and strength. They'll also have financial needs, but they also know Almighty God is control and His grace is sufficient.
This is real life. Losing a coveted recruit or transfer doesn't even compare to the stuff we face daily. We all have our cares and concerns and trials we go through.
Thank God for your health. Thank Him for your loved ones and hug them tight. Life is too short to bicker about stuff that doesn't last. Yes we all want to win. Every game. Every time. But that doesn't happen. 50 years from now we'll have to get on the internet to see who won what and when. Eternity is what matters. Be thankful for the ride we've been on. It's not over yet, either.
