Thoughts on Friday Night Lights - tv show

I had not seen FNL so I suggested to the wife that we watch it on Netflix after enduring all her reality shows and bad dramas. After 2 episodes was; like "Ok, decent show"; but not exactly what I was expecting. The wife goes on a Netflix binge and watches the whole series in 2 weeks; meanwhile I'm doing other things; watching a few episodes here and there. The more I tried to watch it seemed kind like an after school special; with teen drama mixed in minus any humor. It does have a good soundtrack. The football show/movie that totally nailed it for me was Dazed and Confused; it reminded me of some of the HS players in my neighborhood when I was in grade school. Just could not relate to any of the characters on FNL. Maybe I am getting old. On another plus Minka Kelly is hot as sh--. I'd say it's worth watching; just not what I expected.

Dazed and confused was one of the best high school movies ever made. You can identify with just about every character in the movie as someone you knew growing up.

I went to George Walton Academy with him back in the day too. Very nice guy back then.
