Watching the UK game and seeing the personal foul where the dumba$$ UK lineman decided to go WWE on a player on the ground made me think...that should be an ejection if targeting is an ejection. It was intentional, flagrant, and could have caused serious harm. Why isn't that the equivalent of a targeting call and the player is ejected?
While that type of play doesn't happen a lot, it warranted the player, at the least, sitting for a half. Some of the targeting calls are just ridiculous and a player gets ejected. Yet, a 300 lb lineman can flop on a guys back/neck for only a 15 yd penalty.
Same for some of these blindside blocks. If targeting gets you ejected (it shouldn't), then there should be more severe penalties for those fouls.
It's more an indictment of the excessive punishment that goes with the targeting call than wanting to see guys ejected. But, that foul, in my opinion, was just absurd and needed further punishment.
