I don't like to take pain meds, and the dr. got on to me for not...
taking any while I was in the hospital. He informed me that pain slows the healing process as your body overcompensates for the pain. I still don't take them as prescribed, but when I have a great deal of pain I will take one while my abdomen is healing.
