The SECCG is great and helped propel the league to the pre-eminent conference in college football but it's time has now passed with the playoff. This will be the case even more once we get to 8 teams in the playoff.

The cupcake games also are very little fun for the fan and have no bearing on the season or anything else. They really should be reserved for teams that are trying to become bowl eligible.

I think it is time for the SEC to first move to 10 conference games and let the SECCG go. We could still reserve the right to have an SECCG if 2 teams have identical records and happen to not play each other or they need a tie-breaker.

10 games would be a lot more fun for the fans and it would be better for the players especially with an 8 game playoff. We would basically play all but 1 team every year. We would still have GT and 1 cupcake for out of conference.
