trying to spin this. I appreciate that.
I think a sweep this weekend was very foreseeable, but I also think you have to be encouraged by yesterday and today. I was chatting with a former player during the College of Charleston series. We were talking about the future schedule and he said "LSU wins that whole series on Friday night down there. They jump on you, their crowd gets into it, and that really takes away your confidence." That didn't really happen this weekend. We hung right in there after Friday night. That game didn't beat us again.
After the opener, it would've sounded crazy to suggest that we'd get the tying run to 3rd base in the 9th inning on Sunday. But we did. And we did as much to beat ourselves the last two days as LSU did to beat us. Normally you wouldn't feel good about that, but I feel better knowing that we didn't get overpowered after Friday night.
There are no moral victories. At 5 games under .500 and 0-3 in the SEC, we aren't sitting in a very good position... but again, the last two days make me feel better about things than Friday night. They all count the same, but not all losses are the same.
