the Sunday Ole Miss game in 2011.

We’d taken the first two in Oxford. Friday night wasn’t quite as close as the final score would have suggested, and Saturday we played our best game of the year behind a gem from Michael Palazzone. I still remember some of the plays that Levi Hyams and Kyle Farmer made that day... that Saturday was our 7th consecutive conference win.

Ole Miss was good that year. Not great, but they were a good baseball team. Still, you had to figure that Sunday out there would be one of the hardest games of the year to win. And it was. We didn’t play well and Ole Miss beat us pretty easily.

Same thing today. This was going to be the hardest W of the year (so far) to get. Texas A&M is a good team. Lot of experience, really good coaching staff. They’ve lost three series in a row... you had to know that they were going to play with a lot of urgency today.

No need to panic or fret, and I don’t see any of that. This is what happens in the league. And how great is it to be on this side of that?

We did what we needed to do this weekend. A&M did what they needed to do today. This was a great weekend.
