Just interviewed new Georgia defensive back commit Todd Robinson, who gave his pledge to the Dawgs earlier this week. On his official visit last weekend, Robinson felt “at home.” It also helps that former UGA tight end Jay Rome is a wide receivers coach at Valdosta. Robinson has shut down his recruitment and is locked in. A big thanks to new running backs Josh Crawford, who used to coach here at Valdosta. When Crawford was hired a few months ago after Dell McGee’s departure, the new position coach told Kirby Smart about how great of an athlete Robinson was, and the head coach was sold. Smart trusted Crawford’s evaluation, and it worked out well. Robinson is very soft-spoken, but is excited to be a part of this class. Robinson also said Georgia recruited him to specifically play STAR. He said the relationship with Smart is growing and both share a bond of being from South Georgia. Now, Robinson is focused on helping grow this class. He and Elyiss Williams talked strategy this weekend. He’s looking to come back to Athens soon.
