We should have hired Herman. Kirby was the safe choice. Hell, we have fans out there that think Kirby was a good DB in college. That speaks volumes about our fans expectations. That said, you think Richt was good so it kinda disqualifies you too!!!

Well if you are going to base that on game, he didn't look like Urban Meyer during the Conneticut loss. Besides the championship playoff, you can't really judge a team and their motivation. This game is a lot more important to Houston than FSU. FSU's season was over when they lost to Tech.

He started one more collegiate football game than you did...look, he wasn't an elite DB but he was as intelligent as they come. He got significantly more out of his athletic ability than many more naturally gifted players.

Actually, Kirby WAS elite at the college level. Just because He didn't have the physical tools for The NFL, that doesn't diminish His work at UGA.
Terry Hoage was as good as there ever was at UGA, but He was marginal at the pro level.

Me too Memphis guy tho had no shot hired way before Mark Richt discussions tho.so he got a raise two weeks before Richt firing.

Smart rumored to be moving to SCU created the richt firing and he was our first and only choice. Kirby is the top recruiter of the state of ga for anyone not at UGA. He made sense, Herman was my first choice but you see that Kirby was annointed. Think it will work out.
