I watched the presentation again this morning. I have a couple of observations (a few that have already been discussed):
1. I am so thrilled to have Kirby as our coach. I get that is obvious because he is a great coach. And, there is more to it than that. He's a Dawg. Had he gone to SC in 2016, he would have them winning and winning big. But he came here. And this is his home. His blood truly bleeds red and black and he takes our rivals and this conference so seriously. I can't imagine another coach caring as much about UGA as he does. I'm not sure how long he'll want to put up with recruiting, NIL, transfer portals, and the SEC office. Man, while he is here, I'm loving every minute.
2. I love this team. They aren't dominate like the 2021 team or as skilled as the 2022 team. However, they have a fight and toughness to them. Kirby said post game that this is the most mentally tough team he has ever had. They may not win it all. And, with the SEC title I am so proud of them and this may be my favorite team. So, I hope they can win three more games and I am thrilled with what they accomplished.
3. Greg Sankey can move to Austin for all I care. No punishment for burnt orange UT after the temper tantrum in October. Then, on stage, before Kirby spoke his mind about the schedule, all he can mention is that entitled Texas made the title game. I guess the SEC has shifted allegiance from Bama to Texas. That's fine. We still run this conference.
Go Dawgs!
