If your parents are diplomats or approved Green Card workers - and you are born in the U.S. - you get the birthright.
I don't think birthright citizenship is going anywhere. The good news is that by making the discussion public, it bolsters the deterrent that is the entire Trump border policy. Notwithstanding all the actual deportations and stuff that makes the news, by far the most effective change in border policy was the switch from "come on over for free stuff" to "we will arrest and remove you if you come here."
 
Was just surfing and Canada is now getting a large influx of immigrants from the U.S. that are non-citizens of the U.S.
