UGA can't fire Richt unless Pruitt is promoted to head coach.

IMO. A huge commitment has been made to all these new guys that JP brought in and the jury is still out on that. Georgia was 5th a couple weeks back in red zone defense. Georgia swarmed auburn on defense last year then the tiggers hung 44 on Bama.

A huge investment for the future has been made to all these young guys. Before admin blows it all up they will likely give it a chance to work. And by work I would guess give JP the head job. CMR as head coach is going to lose a couple he shouldn't but maybe most coaches do. Saban's team absolutely stunk against Ole Miss. Missed multiple FG's, turned the ball over 5 times. They blew the game. So right now the job he has done is no better than CMR. Both have lost to an inferior opponent. Alabama is better than Georgia so the right team won there. UGA blew UT game. Bama blew Ole Miss game. Same...same YTD.

IF We were in the market for a HC I'd call Tom Herman's agent and ask what it would take to get him to UGA.
If there's a young Urban Meyer or Nick Saban out there, it's probably Herman.

Maybe. He has promise. But you are likely right and wrong. Right in that this staff is not going to be blown up this year. Wrong in that CMR is not "going any place soon" because he is going and soon. If not this year then next. And I do not believe he is going this year because it is untimely. A change is coming even though I smell another 3-4 loss year. With no change next year the defense will be improved and the offense will drop off. BTW all Herman would need to come is a job offer.

Yeah, Richt is just like Saban... absent, of course, the recent SEC championships, national championships, top 5 recruiting classes annually, and commitment to managing the smallest of things (er, special teams, for instance). Yep, take those away and they are a lot alike; 'cept Richt is taller.

Pruitt's made more off of 1 successful year than just about anyone I can think of in recent memory. That FSU team was loaded with talented upper classmen on the 2 deep. After seeing what he's done while at UGA, I'm not convinced he's much better than the previous 2 DCs. Again, UGA is loaded with talent and underperforming.

Pruitt had so much talent at FSU, yet his defense still got shredded by Auburn in the NC game. FSU was lucky to win that one.

Those predictions are as old as Richt's propensity to lose games like Yesterday's, His job is secure. Of course there is always the chance We'll fall apart and events will usher him out, I expect not though.

Actually the truth is closer to this. UGA brought in head cases for defensive players recently. Ton of which are at au and Louisville. Because they were screwups who needed a firm hand then rebelled at JP's increased discipline. So he has some young players on defense particularly in the secondary where the bangers mostly were. Don't forget JP was part and parcel to three national championship teams...in a row! And he was by far the best recruiter on those Alabama staffs.
