My my my…..
A lot has changed since we last played the Tide. We’ve essentially stolen their place in the national stage and in the SEC as the leader of CFB. Two Natties Back ✌🏾Back (with the first being head to head directly against them) and a 26 game winning streak will do just that!
Other than the Natty in 2021, this is the most important matchup for a lot of reasons IMO:
1) David Pollack last year, in Nick Saban’s face, basically told him that UGA is now Daddy and as yall know, Nick’s face was said EVERYTHING lol I’m sure Nick will hammer this into his teams mindset going into the game just like Kirby would. Bama will come out extra motivated…
2) speaking of extra motivation, Bama has players with direct ties to UGA, mainly speaking of Jermaine Burton whom this very board has burned in infamy several times and has followed his time at Bama very closely just as I’m sure he’s heard. For the love of God‼️ We can not lose this game and are forced to watch Jermaine celebrate and rub it in with confetti falling in ATL, he without a doubt will be SO OBNOXIOUS and a true A**hole about it.
On a lesser note we have guys like Trez Marshall, Justice Haynes and Caleb Downs, all GA boys who went to the evil empire. I’d love to smash them and remind them they made a mistake going West essentially ending this season in one game.
3) Also, just like we discussed lastnight, this game will likely be loser go home, season over for us if we lose. There is a decent chance we could get in with a loss, but we’d have to beat Tennessee and GA Tech convincingly and have chaos in the top 10. The other times we’ve played Bama, we’ve always had a mulligan in our pocket.
4) Lastly, the national narrative of the media will be unbearable all off season if Bama wins. Just trust me, hearing about how we’ve only beaten them once and we haven’t truly gotten over the hump against them…..will truly be an offseason of torture.
Thoughts?
