I am pretty down on our offense with GL doing his best impersonation of a guy in a neck brace who cannot turn, but I was encouraged by the defense.
Here are some stats I read, which surprised me as it seemed like UF's defense has been far more dominant.
Yes, I know UGA and UF have played different opponents, but TIFWIW:
Through 7 games:
Total defense, UGA #21, UF #22
YPG allowed, UGA 307.9, UF 314.4
3rd down conversions not allowed, UGA #13, UF #41
1st down defense, UGA #17, UF #35
Scoring defense, UF #17 (17.3), UGA #25 (19.4)
Unfortunately, UF is way ahead in sacks and turnovers caused.
EDIT: Against UT and Missouri, UF gave up 419 yards to UT and 257 to Missouri---676 total . UGA gave up 519 to UT and 164 to Missouri- 683 total.
