Going to be very interesting next 4 years.
Elon and his bunch are likely honing AI to swim up stream in the Swamp. Likely a hell if a lot of Congressional folks on both sides of the aisle that are in “Shiver me Timbers”.

Doge was not on a list, wasn’t picked for any financial or statistical reason. They were just non responsive to Executive Orders, recalcitrants of the day so to speak.

What is encouraging is that this process is possibly going to be a template for governmental efficiency going forward.
The scale of the impropriety and likely criminal behavior is awful and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Heard this morning some of the DOGE personnel have stated, "wait till the U.S. Taxpayers see what is going on with Medicare and Medicaid"

There's a bunch of shredders and key boards delete keys being destroyed by overuse as we speak....

Problem with that is the folks doing the checking aren’t normal auditors. They are ALL IT folks.

Having made a pass at this in my previous IT/Legal Career:

You get backup tapes or Cloud backups.
Run a VTOC (that’s a Directory for you young ones with similac on your breath) and match names, types, sizes (& dates)

Then you sample some data contents throughout and data definitions to make sure it’s the same. Then you dig into the data, make sure the current jives with the backups. THEN you turn your AI Audit loose.

$9 billion of the $35 billion to NIH went to administrative cost. Yale and Harvard have administrative rates near 70%. Today NIH capped Administrative rates at 15% resulting in $4 billion/year savings

Congress spent over $500 billion on expired programs last year. Some expired 40+ years ago. Not sure how this happens or where it goes. Maybe we find out.
