Revolution Vol: I say there isn't an army that could stop us

"A couple, which in Tennessee means three (me, my sister and my cousin)" Vol:
Couple of thoughts on this:
First- Because I live in Bama, I get the brunt of their snarky comments. The one I get the most is “act like you’ve been there”, the vibe that they are so good they expect to win every game. In their defense, yep, I get it - no denying they have been there, but by golly just look at the picture. Why waste an opportunity to party after an awesome victory? Look at how happy that crowd was on the field at that time. A memorable and special moment. Nobody fighting, good tunes playing and a legitimate victory. (Wasn’t the refs you Gumps))

Second: Crybaby Nick had the SEC pass a rule (I think, could ne wrong) that visiting team gets a cut of the fine. If so it would suck for Kirby and company to get the consolation prize.

Third: meet me on the 50- can’t miss me. I’ll be the old guy in orange.

"Wonder if this storming the field thing will become a tradition in college football. We started it." Vol:
We had our fun vs Bama last year and set the standard which everyone was trying to copy.
Now is the time for us to act like we've been there before and expect to be there again frequently.

"Georgia's only beaten us 11 of the last 13" Vol:
I don't feel like there's any great tectonic release of pent-up frustration left to push us that way again. Between beating Florida, beating LSU, and beating Bama last year, we sloughed off a lot of the built-up pressures of the 13-year Dark Ages. By comparison, Georgia's not that big a thing. Not historically, anyway, just in the last handful of years.

So I think we're good. But if we do it, that's good too.

Go Vols!

"I threw the French's Mustard bottle" Vol: if it's just to piss all over those SEC Conference jackholes for trying to stamp out every bit of passion from SEC fanbases - even though that same passion is what MAKES the SEC the best conference in sports - rushing the field is approved. Shove their faces in it. I'm sorry that lil ol' country girl threatened your defenseless "scared" 240 pound player, Nick, but if all you're gonna do is whine to the SEC every time Tennessee whips your ass from here on in, you can shut the hell up and retire already.

"Georgia's only beaten us 17 out of 24 times since we last won the SEC, not like Bama who has beaten us 17 out of 24 and Florida who has beaten us 19 out of 24" Vol:
If I'm there, no. I don't consider UGA a rival in the same breath as Florida or Bama.

"Georgia's only beaten us six in a row by 14 or more. They just don't own us the way Bama did." Vol: I wouldn’t fault anyone from doing it but I hope we’re ahead of or right next to them in the rankings so it’s just about taking care of business. It also hasn’t been as lopsided of a rivalry as Bama was.

"We have dominated them except for this bad stretch" Vol: No. I don’t know what it is, but they’re not field storming worthy. Don’t give them that level of respect . We’ve been down for over a decade and a half and UGA leads the all time series , by what, 2 games or something ? We used to own them. I think we had won 9 in a row. So the hell w/ them. We win, move on and no Christmas ornaments, no goal post in the river, we go win an SEC title an hour from their campus.

(This Vol might be surprised to find out that UGA led the series by one before it became a yearly game. We have won three more than they have since then and own a four game lead in the series. This, despite losing the first eight games after it became an annual meeting.)

"History ended in 1999" Vol: No. Historically we are a better program than UGA.

"We should patent storming the field" Vol: It was funny how every other team's fans started rushing the field after we did it and they saw how much fun we had.

Rose Dewitt Bukater Vol: Nope I am super conservative i.e. keep off my lawn conservative, and I feel that rushing the field only gives them more respect than they deserve. We Have Been There Before, by the way.

Historian Vol:
Not any more, Nationdom, not any more.

As of last year, Georgia has more wins all-time than us. :(

I can't wait until we pass them back again. It'll take decades, but maybe we'll still be alive for it.

Disney Vol: We can catch up sooner than you think. Georgia can’t continue their current level of recruiting forever, especially if Tennessee is resurgent enough to start winning its share of top level Georgia talent.
