Just dropped $710.00 for Thanksgiving dinner for two people.

Location was probably worth 20% of that price (Newport Cliff Walk, 5* property), ocean view table.

On the plus side - no working for hours prepping and cooking, no clean up.

On the negative side - no leftovers.

I had Kabocha squash soup with crème fraiche and cognac, venison carpaccio, and Wagyu filet and beef cheeks and a wine pairing with each course. My wife had in house smoked salmon, seared scallops, and a local free-range turkey with chanterelle and apple dressing. She also had a cocktail and a glass of Montrachet. We both had three desserts from the cart and Expresso martini's.

First time in 27 years we have been without any family for Thanksgiving and it was bittersweet...until a couple of drinks in, and then we were good.

To all of my brothers and sisters on this site, I hope all of you had the best Thanksgiving possible.

Now let's go kick the shit out of Tech.
