Actually,I think U/Ga is looking at 10 wins and a shot at Alabama again
Historically, UT has always played good most years against U/Ga. Even during the 2012-2015 years when U/Ga had far superior talent and UT was lacking both on the field and on the sidelines.
2012 Shootout with U/Ga pulling out a late 4th quarter TD for a 51-44 win
2013 U/Ga escapes with a 3 point win after Howard fumbles the ball through the endzone stretching for the pylon for a TD in OT and the Dawgs escape with a 3 point win.
2014, Hurd's 1st fumble of his career and the only one of the season gives the Dawgs a defensive TD in a game they won by 3 points
2015, Hurd's 2nd fumble of his career gives the Dawgs another defensive TD but UT manages to hang on to give Jones only his 2nd win against a ranked opponent against 13 losses. In 2 weeks, he will lose to Bammer to run his record against Ranked teams to 2-14 during his Derek Dooley Part II Tour.
Old timers might remember Hershell running over Bill Bates to score TDs against UT in the opening game of the Dawg's 1980 NC season. But what I recall is UT R/B Glen Ford fumbling the handoff on the goal line as he was going in through the endzone for a touchback with a minute to play and the Dawgs escaping with a 16-15 victory
Dawgs went on undefeated. UT went 5-6
Dawgs will still beat F-U as will LSU and then U/Ga will take the East due to head to head competition.
GO YOU BIG HAIRY DAWGS
