With 4 losses already this season and likely 4 more losses coming vs. Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida & Clemson, the timing of his retirement makes perfect sense to me.

Totally disagree...that was a backbone move for Spurrier to do that...he saw what was happening and to the benefit of his team, turn it over to let those capable of handling the coaching , their chance to give it a shot. agreed. He saw the dumpster fire and the bad mojo and decided to get out. He wasn't a shell of his former self and he realized that.
