why isn't anyone saying this? I hate him and wish for him that everyday forward is worse than latter. Loser

Spurrier is a lot of things. Coward isn't one of them. You have no idea what is going on whether his health is bad or family is sick.

With 4 losses already this season and likely 4 more losses coming vs. Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida & Clemson, the timing of his retirement makes perfect sense to me.

I agree it was a cowardly act. No mention of family or illness...which i would have given benefit of the doubt until he basically said its because he's losing this year and its not a retirement.

Totally disagree...that was a backbone move for Spurrier to do that...he saw what was happening and to the benefit of his team, turn it over to let those capable of handling the coaching , their chance to give it a shot. I'd rather have that than a coach that has lost his edge and kept on making it worse.

agreed. He saw the dumpster fire and the bad mojo and decided to get out. He wasn't a shell of his former self and he realized that.

He loved it and would run his mouth when things were rolling his way. Hanging 50 on us in Sanford. Doing double reverses late in the game in Jacksonvillr with a huge lead. Bomb passes late against Tennessee when they had the game in hand late. Now it's his turn to take it and he doesn't have the guts to do so. And to see you idiots come to his defense like its courageous is laughable. Fck him! A terrible Georgia team hung 50 on his sorry ass and that is the last taste of us he will have and remember. He is a terrible person and I hope nothing but bad things for him now and forever

The guy is a gutless coward. He built this failure of a team and jumped off the train as it head off the tracks. I am glad we beat them this year and wish we had Cumberland his horrible old a$$

Amen. The guy is absolute terrible human being. He was always a darling of the media because he gave them what they wanted. Because of that they are giving him a pass now and letting him quietly slide out the door instead of reporting the truth. That he just became the poster child for his players on how to be a quitter when things get tough. Loser
