The last time I went was back when Joe Cox was a freshman. I seem to remember it was really hot and there were at most 30,000 people. Be interesting to see how many show up.

I never believed we would get 93K to a glorified scrimmage, even if it is free. I always thought we may get 75K, maybe 80K at absolute best. UGA fans are spread out and many are not going to drive hours for a scrimmage. I always thought Kirby get himself out on a very thin limb by asking for a sellout caliber crowd. I hope I'm wrong and the stadium is slam full. I've only been to one G Day, do they concessions at G Day? If not, that might help the crowd every year.

What a crowd! More people in stadium 2 hrs early than when we play AU! Had to shut some gates due to so many. Kirby got what he wanted and kudos to the AA for stepping up.

Eason looked great.

Traffic a NIGHTMARE going. We left a little early coming back.

That's amazing that 93K showed up. I am really surprised(happily). It's amazing how much popular SEC football is now then my day at UGA(90-94).

A friend who was there thinks the crowd was close to 100K.

Amazing. I don't think that record will be beat any time soon. New Head coach; golden boy recruit coming in early for spring semester; just the perfect storm for a big turnout.

Meanwhile, the "U" had 14,000 at their spring game. Coach Richt's got a long way to go and wish him luck.

Your friend would be correct. The concourses were jammed 50 deep on the north side, while a full house in the stands.

So maybe 30'000 more UGA fans were there than at a regular sellout game when you deduct visitors from the total, most excellent.

I would say 100K plus in the stadium and then the people on the bridge and milling around outside the stadium that could not find seats. Made me thankful I have season tickets so I am guaranteed seats for each game.

Being all in is going to be very helpful in the staff's efforts to build a championship program. It's not like we had far to go, I think we'll be competitive this season.

Something else I love about this, Kirby is fearless in going for it all.
Richt never quite had that moxie.

You are correct! He told them we were all there for them, so show them what you got. And they hit, didn't mess around. And one thing Eason impressed me with besides his arm, was his command of the game. He's fearless too and seemed to manage them well.
