You need to educate yourself on ivermectin. And I don’t mean the liberal rags with an agenda or the conservative, tinfoil hat sites. I’m talking true medical information that is peer reviewed. Find me one that is reputable with proof ivermectin doesn’t work against any viruses, is harmful to the recipient in normal doses, or is not approved for use in humans in the US.
I’m not arguing for ivermectin. I’m arguing against the idea it was wrong to try it and that it was in any way malpractice.
Finally, can you explain why countries that used it extensively had lower mortality rates (Brazil and several other SA countries)? If there was any evidence it could help it was worth trying. Cheap, widely available and safe. The worst that could happen? - nothing.
I just want the record set straight on why he was so adamant about the lab leak “theory” being misinformation, along with all the other decisions and narratives being pushed “for our own good” even when “the science” behind closed doors said otherwise.

With all due respect, I’ve worked in the medical field for over two decades. Ivermectin has been studied and it has no effect on COVID. The fact that you don’t know that it was actually studied means you’re not that serious about learning.
Please stop getting your medical information from Twitter and get it from your doctor. Please.
Just remember - when Trump got Covid, he did not take ivermectin. He took Paxlovid.
When he was sick with Covid, he never went to those quack doctors he paraded out on Twitter. When he was scared and thought his own life was on the line, he went to a real doctor and sought out real medical treatments. Just like I hope you would do.

You completely missed the point of the post. I clearly stated I wasn’t advocating specifically for ivermectin use in Covid. What I was concerned with was the response of the media and peripheral medical community. It was early in the disease process and doctors were trying everything. The attempt to use ivermectin was met with ridiculous contempt. It’s not like they were trying a drug that was grossly harmful, cost thousands of dollars, or was experimental. There was an agenda in the medical community.
I respect your two decades of experience. But that doesn’t give you the right to pass judgement against an attempt to help a problem that had an innocuous outcome. Just choose to practice differently.
And, yes, there really is published information regarding ivermectin and antiviral activity. This is all in vitro work, not in vivo. But it makes sense that they tried. It wasn’t completely baseless. And the world was desperate for help. What if it had been effective but people like yourself were too convinced it was voodoo to try it?

All trials on ivermectin, independent of Big Pharma, showed great results. You being in a medical field shows you are bought and paid for by Big Pharma and need to stay out of honest discussions.
The best "trial" was from African countries where the population takes it weekly. Covid mortality almost zero.

Exactly, there seemed to be an extreme push to sell pharmaceuticals and force MRNA vaxes on EVERYBODY, even kids that were at virtually zero risk from the virus. I don't know if malaria drug or a horse dewormer helps with covid or not but I would love to see a thorough forensic audit and criminal investigations if warranted.
