the pre-SEC slate? Mine:

1. Reduce JP's minutes from 28 to max of 15/gm. This means Diatta and Hammonds get most of the minutes as the season goes on.

2. Start off the bat playing zone. How many returning starters and backups do we have? There is minimal learning curve from freshmen because only Hammonds needs to learn the zone schemes. That is it. So, want to see zone from game 1.

3. Experiment early, but if it isn't worth the scheme, then put it away. For instance, there is scuttlebutt out there that Yante can get some time at the 3 to help his NBA chances. A) Does it make us better? Really? UNLESS Hammonds gets to play some 4, then how are we better if ME or EW start at the 4 and Yante at the 3? And, B) Is getting Yante help for his NBA career worth losing a game? I say no.

4. Run some different sets (go back to how deep we are from experience) and that we have a new coach. Shoot 3s more. Run some sets for DO. Play some small-ball with Diatta at the 4 when Yante sits. Get Turtle and Crump in a faster rhythm early in the season... don't walk it up all the time!

5. Play 9 players exclusively. The best 9 get to play, the other 4 get to work in practice. If they play better in practice than one of the first 9, then they get to be in the top 9. Great. But no more than 9 per game (except for blowouts, of course)Those other 4, their time will come. But this is not the season to try to get in 12-13 players per game.

6. I want to see some different inbounds plays. Hopefully the new coach will have some influence on this. We have had 8 years of the same play, a new one might cause some consternation from an opposing team!!

What ya got? And I know what CMF is MOST LIKELY to do...but come out with some things you want to see that make you think he is changing his ways. I know how we all felt when the opening lineup at Clempson came on the floor...another sigh. I'd like to not have a repeat of that.
