When did the game of college football get ruined?

Some may say NIL, Portal, the BCS, Playoffs? Remember when there were like only 20 bowls now there are 40 bowls and 2/3 of FBS trans make post season, they use to be special. What was so wrong with co champs before BCS? Some say FSU in, some say FSU out, who is right?
