Today is September 1 and already have one officer killed and in the last three weeks we have had now 8 officers killed . Gun down .

I realize this might not sting some of you like it does me . But can anyone tell me when the war on us will end ? Yes it's a war on us .

It's terrible. Saw on a show I was watching this am where there have been 16 officers killed this year across the country. On the show was the NYC police commissioner. He said over the past 2 yrs there has just been a change in people..the general public....period. While there are rogue cops across the land that need to stop killing, there's also the people, elected officials, etc. everywhere that talk about downsizing, cutting funding, etc all because they're in a police union or they work for the govt and this has busted the morale of the force.

He had a lot to say and was very compelling.

Lump I won't sit here and say they are not bad cops . I will say they are a lot less than people think . I tend to let the process play out before judging the event.

I think everyone in law enforcement has made a mistake at some point in their careers. Just like you at your career . We are at a different time with everyone having a camera and as I use to tell my rookies it only takes 40 seconds to make a big mistake where everyone will know you .

We have a divider in the White House . We have media that will pre judge and go along with the mass of fools .

Pretty soon you will be a target to the bs and the people you know . When someone wakes up it will end . It sad times we are in .

Oh I agree with you. I think it's a small few. And he wasn't saying there was, in fact, he said that very thing. He was more on the morale with people hating govt workers and their unions and wanting to get rid of them when they're doing the best they can.

I hate it when anybody, cop or otherwise is murdered. This is not the making of media though. This is an internal police issue that is coming to light through the flood of mobile video devices. Police have a tough job, but they have some unqualified and just plain BAD people wearing badges who have no business doing so. If police nationwide want to reform the negative image they've created, they're going to have to do far better at policing their own. Steps have been taken, like having state or feds investigate. More willingness by departments and individual cops to be honest when a fellow officer crosses a line is going to have to occur, or things will get worse.

This situation was started by Obama and Holder telling blacks by their words and actions that blacks were treated unfairly by police. It started with Trevon in Fla when Obama said the boy could have been his son. Ferguson and the Hands up Don't Shoot saying was based on a lie and a good policeman's life was ruined even though the thug he killed was lionized in the media. The man in New York who said "I can't breathe" is troublesome but if I had resisted arrest, I would have been taken down the same way and the man died of a heart attack not the police. Then Baltimore where the mayor stabbed the police in the back. Nobody knows how Freddie Gray died but to indict 6 police for murder is ridiculous. Now we have every black guy that is killed by a white cop is front page headlines. Not a word about blacks killing blacks though because that doesnt fit the agenda of the left.

Contrast that to citizens that are killed by Illegal immigrants. Many more citizens are murdered and raped by illegals than cops kill blacks. The media not only doesn't care they and the govt actually hide stats which make it hard to find how people are killed and raped by illegals. Obama and the AG are silent on this because it doesnt fit their agenda.

I agree there are bad cops but 99% are good people and they are all we have to keep us from anarchy.

I think we all are on your side. You guys are the front line in the fight on crime and most of the US is 100% behind what you and your fellow officers are doing. The current climate in Washington and liberal bastions are the cops are bad and thugs are just misunderstood. well we all know that is complete BS. I think the politicians should receive your pay and you should receive their pay, it would be more inline with the sacrifices you in Blue make every day. We have you all in our prayers. There are a few bad apples but the majority are great men and women being asked much for so little in return.

Well it's time for folks that are on the side of LE to make their voices heard . Did hear about the officer that was ambush at his home ? War on police has been declared.

Most people aren't on either ''side'', that would require the side of justice take a back seat.
It's clear there are far too many ''bad shootings'' by police, many appear to be out and out murder.
That doesn't mean I'm on the side of people who murder cops though, that's a false choice. I think a them vs us attitude can only make things worse for police.

In all of the police shootings so far this year have been rule justified. In two cases that I'm aware of ( they maybe a few more ) that are iffy . South Carline and the campus cop . That two out of all that has happen .

I have at least 20 contact with people on a work day bases and as far as I know all are fine . I'm not the only one . So you going lump two questionable shooting by officers ; that we are all bad ? You not only a idiot but your an asshat .

I realize you probably some troll and likes to stir the pot but whatever . Let's keep in mind , if the two in the cases above would have done what the officer told them in the first place they still be alive today.

The guy shot in Texas yesterday with his hands up was clearly a bad shooting. When the police chief comes out and tries to piss on citizens' heads and expects them to believe it's raining, it will doubtless only exacerbate the macro problems. There have been more along that line as well. Also these are just the ones that happen to be caught on video. Common sense tells me there are many that are not on video and when police call them justified, they get away with it.

For some reason the far right never seem to see when a tipping point has come, they keep fighting on the wrong side of history.

There is a reason it's called a thin blue line. The police are the only thing between anarchy and the civil society. Nothing, absolutely nothing, justifies the murder of innocent, good police officers. We have a justice system and more often then not it works.

We are still a nation of laws and the mob doesn't get to decide which laws they obey, or don't obey in these cases, in the name of social justice.

Phuck blacklivesmatter movement! They are a radical left-wing domestic terrorist group calling for the murder of whites and police officers, and should be shut down at any cost. But Democrats will continue to support this group in fear if they don't they will lose a vote.

Nothing justifies murder.. PERIOD. That goes for killing a suspect who has both hands high in the air.
''The thin blue line'' is now getting good cops killed. The genie is out of the bottle guys, that is what you're missing. Police have to do what they can to win people over, not declare war on half the country and generate more distrust, fear and loathing.

I think the majority of police officers are doing a very difficult job that does not pay enough for what they do. 98% of them are doing the right thing and some good cops make bad decisions under duress in the line of duty. Police officers have to react to a situation in a matter of split seconds at times and they do not always get it right. We definitely need them and they need our support, just like our brave soldiers and firemen. The fact that some are being targeted is partly due to obama and the media playing the thugs out to be some type of church-going choir boys that obviously had criminal records. They can not have it both ways. If I ever get pulled over I show the officer respect and courtesy even when I might not be sure why I was pulled over. I have never been, tasered, shot or beaten to a pulp by an officer, If I pulled the stunts these little choir boys tried I would expect to get the snot beat out of me or shot and killed. I much rather like to hear of a dead thug than a dead cop on the news.

My problem with your post is you won't admit that some of these cops are committing violent felonies. When a guy is 100 ft or more away, raises both hands and gets blasted to 2 different cops who seem to claim they feared a knife he supposedly had earlier. That just doesn't pass the smell test. I see a pattern of waiting till a suspect raises his arms, then shooting him. That looks more and more like deliberate acts born from wink and a nod training.

Just to inject a bit a non-political fact, police killings are below recent averages so far this year. They are less than half of the average killings of officers in the 1970s.

I don't know how those facts relate to these murders, but it's worth noting that statistically there is nothing worse than what we've had for decades.

I have no idea about the latest shooting in Texas . What are you talking about ? Still if that the case that three . Still doesn't justify what going on . Do you have any idea, how many officers have lost their lives this year ?

Like I said I haven't seen the Texas shooting . I don't know what happen there . Post a link and I will look at it and give you my thoughts .

I did say that approximately 98% of officers are doing their job by the book. That leaves room for the ones who are not following the law.
I do not see a pattern of the latter circumstance occurring, and yes that is a criminal act if carried out the way you put it. I realize there are bad cops out there, but media skews the facts to make the majority of the officers bad. They totally built up the case of the Ferguson shooting and made the perpetrator out to be a saint that was on the way to save lives and turn water into wine. He had just assaulted a store owner after robbing him (on tape) then proceeds down he middle of he street where he was confronted by our (media version-evil murdering racist officer) officer who was nearly killed by the gentle giant. The media then published a story that was from witness accounts that were proven false. That is irresponsible journalism and they intended on selling a story of poor black man being killed by evil white men, BS! They should be sued for slander.
These officers are as citizens our first and only line of defense and they are being hunted as killers and racist which is wrong. That is another reason to uphold and strengthen the second amendment!

It is absolutely not "The thin blue line" getting good cops killed. It is hate-filled, violent rhetoric emanating out of the certain individuals and radical left-wing domestic terrorist groups calling for the murder of whites and the police.

Whether you like it or not, the Police are the authority. They make the rules, and the rest of us must play by those rules. The police are not the ones declaring war on half the country. It is the scum of the earth declaring war on the vast amount of wonderful, innocent Police Officers who do their jobs under tremendous duress every single day.

There are definitely bad cops out there that have committed violent felonies. And those bad cops should be, and will be, dealt with accordingly by our justice system. The problem I have with your posts- you never once admitted that the vast amount of cops are dedicated, excellent, good police officers absolutely trying to do they best they can under difficult circumstances.

You Libs, and the vermin you empathize with, have no problem stereotyping all cops as bad just because of a few isolated incidences. But fail to acknowledge we have a real issue with illegal immigration and where the real danger is with the "peaceful" religion of Islam.

You seem to confuse The United States with some banana republic. The police are not ''the authority'' they don't make the rules. Some clearly think they do and act as if they do though. They are public servants charged with following rules and laws just like the rest of us.
I lived in Asheville NC and got to know a deputy who actually thought the sheriff made laws and rules. He also thought it was legal to beat citizens who disrespected him. That former sheriff is now serving time in federal prison. I'm proud of my small role in alerting state and federal authorities to the confused state of our public servants.

Do they not have the authority to enforce laws? Does the authority make the laws (rules)?

No one in their right mind would believe that story. It's Fantasy. Just like the world liberals live in.

Mind of a lib:
56,000 illegal aliens serving in federal prison doesn't make all illegal aliens bad.
Thousands of people killed every year by the radical Islamist doesn't make all Muslims bad.
A few blacks get killed by cops and all of a sudden every cop is bad and declaring war on every black person in the USA.

Pathetic.

This proves there are ignorant folks in all walks of life. You put me in a Detroit subsidized housing neighborhood and I would be ignorant of the street rules. The golden rule does not apply for me in that situation, I would be more than likely written about as a body found in he projects. I understand the Police enforce the laws and they have some leeway as to what laws are being infringed upon in their line of duty. The general rule of thumb is show them respect and be courteous and there will be no problems. Look at our politicians, more often than not clinton, pelosi, franks, to name a few, treat citizens like they are children to be told what to do and how to live, because they know better how to care for us than we can ourselves. The majority of good traits are often overlooked by the detractors of those groups in favor of labeling all as bad. Both sides are guilty of this character trait.

That's quite the rant, but it does nothing to refute my facts.
I'm old enough to remember when dishonest sheriffs ruled most rural counties in the south. In 1988 the feds took down 12 Georgia sheriffs for every type of felony. Some seem to pine for those good old days, not me. I detest crooked and bullying cops, they make a mockery of our system of justice.

I didn't see any facts in your post, except maybe you lived in Asheville NC. Why would I refute that? ;)

Lawless and overly aggressive cops have nothing to do with democratic politics, or republican politics for that matter.
It seems some are content as long as cops let them have their guns. If there's a hint of gun control all of a sudden it's a police state.

What we know as fact is that Progressives/Liberals, Statists won't stop with a few gun control laws. You fools like the slow boil approach. A gun control law here, a gun control law there, here, there, here, there, soon Guns are completely outlawed. And when guns are outlawed, only the Government will have guns. The Government and a few outlaws. If that happens, you can count me among the outlaws.

In 1929 the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929
to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915-1917, 1.5
million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1938 to 1945, 13
million Jews. gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill, and others who
were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million
political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up
and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000
Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one
million "uneducated" people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up
and exterminated.

That places total victims who lost their lives because of gun control at
approximately 56 million in the last century.

My point is the left is pushing this fight along by aligning with the groups like black lives matter, black panthers, to maintian their voting block. This is done at the expense of our peace and civil rest. The media and the left have forced what was a non-issue and twisted the facts to make the black culture fear and hate police and now hunt them down.

You forgot to mention every first world nation has gun control, and those with common sense laws and rules have far FAR lower murder rates than we do.
But none of that is central to the topic. The point stands, as long as police powers abuse others and leave your guns alone, you guys are good.
