I can attest and give 1st hand example. ALL Georgia colleges and university employees were REQUIRED to go through DEI training (elementary/secondary as well). The way most training is done for educational institutions of any type, is online, through professionally designed interactive videos, questions, scenarios, etc... This DEI training included scenarios or examples of workplace practices; – whether it be hiring, treatment, teacher-to-teacher, teacher-to-student, admin, etc.... And then you had to answer questions about what you just read. Honestly, most of the scenarios I would agree with - treating all fairly. But DEI has never been about fairness. The training ALWAYS leads to that ONE scenario or situation - where you have to ADMIT to individual built-in discrimination; inherent racism because of your skin color. You can't just help yourself because of who you are. They "beat around the bush" get you all happy-smiley, and then BAM. There it is! And then you have to sign off on the training. I couldn't believe that Kemp, our so-called conservative leaders would not only allow this crap but FORCE it on educators. He has NO backbone. I was fuming! I did leave my comments in a professional manner at the end. There was plenty of backlash from all over the state. Fortunately, it was just that one training. Hasn't been repeated.
